Ug, me on videotape again

Back by popular demand (you know who you are), it’s me on videotape goofing around for promos for one of my upcoming speaking engagements. As usual, I have no control over the elements so while it was too dark in the last shoot, it’s too bright in this one. I was told to be more animated and speak more quickly. I almost fell down laughing since usually, I’m being told to be LESS animated and speak more SLOWLY.

(New videos replacing the old ones here. G-d bless my little sister for doing so many takes.)

  1. Ahahaha. I do that to people too, but it’s usually not out of place, usually the answer is “Yemen, Turkey and New Zealand” or somthing. I mean, for your husband it’s obviously not difficult; Ashkenazi Jew from LA. You can already guess where his grandparents came from..But really, someone who’s parents came from Washington Heights and is of a “spanish orientation” should already be enough..

  2. I think saying “New York” is just fine. That is the correct answer to where are YOU from. I am from New York and nowhere else. What people are REALlY asking is what is my racial heritage and why is that an okay question for polite conversation? If you’re really interested in finding about my heritage, let the conversation take its natural course, maybe you’ll find out.
