============================================
Dr. Chatterjee, an internationally known and published linguist, was the first to uncover and promote the Jewish nature of the writings and thought of Ludwig Wittgenstein, the Viennese post-linguist and ethical thinker who was forced to conceal his Jewish identity in a world of pre-war European anti-Semitism.
Upon meeting professor José Faur in Chicago, Dr. Chatterjee discovered first-hand the rabbinic tradition that was preserved among the Jewish communities of the Mediterranean, and was introduced to the rabbis’ theories of language – theories which he found remarkably similar to the ideas of the post-modern philosophers and post-linguists like Wittgenstein and Jacques Derrida.
As his work and his spirit began to come and grow together in unforeseen ways, Dr. Chatterjee found his relationship with G-d unfolding in a completely unexpected direction.
