Who is this guy?Listen up, fellow converts and friends who are just curious about those who chose the fold. I’m writing up a piece on ‘what not to say and what to say to a convert.’ Any ideas? Converts, what questions do you wish people would stop asking? Friends, what questions come to mind when you think about converts?

The first question I always get is “Did you convert for someone?” As if all converts only convert because they want to marry their Jewish boyfriend or girlfriend. Then it’s always questions about how my family reacted, which I don’t mind so much 🙂

I met my husband in the middle of the conversion process. Before him, people would always ask me why I was converting. After him, everyone made the assumption that it was for him. People still say, “Wow,really?! You met your husband AFTER you decided to convert!”

Someone asked me the same question. I responded: “Do you have so little faith in your own texts that you disdain their ability to convince people who were not force fed these texts?”He turned very red and shut up.
