Can we as Modern and Open Orthodox Jews just tell the charedi extremists, in the words of Ian Smith, “so far and no further”?Can we simply have the courage to say, as Barry Goldwater would have said, “with no apologies”?If I were the Prime Minister of Israel the only Orthodox rabbis I would allow on the Conversion Courts would be from the Datei Leumi camp. Those who refuse to support the state forfeit their rights as stakeholders.
