Marathon’s in my way…no longer breathing heavily

The marathon is running down 5th avenue today…guess which avenue I live on? I live between Madison and 5th. I bought two air purifiers (second was free with the purchase of the larger unit) and had to hail a cab to drag them over to my house. Still, after many failed attempts, the cab driver could only get me as far as Lenox Avenue before leaving me at the corner an avenue away from my street. Ah, then there was the 15 minute plus wait until the sea of runners seemed to widen and the cops let us all through. I had to run across with my Rite Aid bags, Clark’s stool sample and two air purifers (the larger one and the compact version). Really, I moved my bed across the room and a dresser too on Thursday. Do allergies give me super strength?

Why was I running across the street with a stool sample? Since half the world is running around Manhattan literally, apparently the MTA thinks it is funny to let me wait 30 minutes before I finally give up and leave the train station and miss my stool sample drop-off appointment. I figured I’d just run over to Rite Aid to get breakfast (M&Ms), tissues (with lotion), lint brushes and the like before heading home. Saddened and downtrodden, I realized I had forgotten to look up the address for Radio Shack and I did not want to walk farther west but as I looked up and sighed, I discovered Radio Shack was only a couple of steps away.

I walked in looking all of 15 years old in a ponytail and the clerk asks me if I want to buy a phone. I couldn’t help it, in my state, I gave him the evil eye or some version of it before hailing over another clerk who was suprised to see a 15-year-old purchasing a $100+ air purifier. I waited for the bus for a second before giving up and hauling all my stuff into a cab.

Finally home, waiting for AC to come over and realized that my ears just popped and I am breathing in and out of my nose so the air purifier sitting directly in front of me (diagonally from the Diana cat on my bed) must be working, right? Is there a blessing for breathing?
